The first global forum on sustainable tourism took place from 27 June to 3 July 2022 in Sorrento and brought together 400 young people to learn, share, and discuss ideas about the future of tourism.
IDEA: gathering 400 young people from all over the world for seven days of laboratories, workshops, team-building initiatives, experiences, meetings, role plays, and gatherings with the authorities to shape their vision of tomorrow’s tourism.
DESCRIPTION: from 27 June to 3 July in Sorrento. The event promoters were the UN World Tourism Organization, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Italian National Tourist Board (ENIT), supported by the Municipality of Sorrento. Four hundred young people aged between 12 and 18 from 80 different countries. It was an insight into the tourism industry, full of exchanges of ideas and discussions with the industry’s specialists. Moreover, several Ambassadors, like Drogba and Valeria Mazza, 12 ministers, and the UNWTO Secretary participated in the Summit. A video message from the Pope welcomed the 400 young participants.
