The Christening of the Yara Birkeland, the world’s first fully autonomous, electric, zero emission containership, a game-changer for global maritime transport.
Running with the the theme of an automated zero emission container ship, the set design used shipping containers for exhibitions, floor plan logistics, interactive experiments, food and beverage stations and representative lounges for the collaborative partners.
Marking a new era in sustainable investment for the future, we had to be creative in every aspect to make sure we reduced our footprint. This included a custom ice bottle for the baptism of the ship (instead of champagne bottle), water cannons (instead of fireworks and balloons for the ceremony), local vendors and produce, collaborations with the local science teams, organised shared transport for better environmental impact, equipment and tolls were all sourced from local suppliers and of course – we recycled everything from the event, including banners, cutlery, bottles and removal of all plastics.
