New for this year was our Livestream Studio, which overlooked the Olympiapark. We broadcast from inside the main hall, and interviewed guests, athletes and trainers to share a taster of the event for those that couldn’t attend in person.
We broadcast this around the park on large screens, as well as beaming out to those around the globe.
This year we made a huge step of using a downloadable app for our live translation into 6 languages. Prior to this, thousands of headsets were handed out and lots were wasted! Steps were put in place to eliminate potential issues with WiFi connectivity, device batteries and lack of headphones to make the experience a seamless transition. Uptake was awesome with 67% of the audience using the app.
At the evening aftershow party, we changed the Olympiahalle into a Copacabana themed nightclub! We brought in palm trees, stilt walkers and Brazilian drummers!
