Exclusive investment conference with 1,000 finance professionals at Frankfurt’s Alte Oper opened with The Sound of Finance—a world-first symphony by humans + AI, an emotional, multi-sensory experience
The aim was to reinforce DWS as an innovative, client-centric asset manager and underline its annual investment conference as a compass for the financial industry. The 25th anniversary required a bold statement: not slides, but a groundbreaking show translating complex market dynamics into an inspiring, emotional experience. The goal was to give participants fresh perspectives on markets and the role of AI in finance, while engaging in keynotes, panels, and interactive breakouts that deepened knowledge and strengthened relationships.
The Sound of Finance turned finance into performance: a musical dialogue between AI and human creativity. Instead of charts, 25 years of MSCI World data became the raw material for a symphonic narrative. AI models smoothed millions of datapoints, identified market turning points, and generated melodic structures; composers refined them into a full orchestral score. Performed live and enriched with media and light, milestones—from the dot-com boom to the Lehman Brothers collapse—became an emotional journey. A fractal stage with semi-transparent elements symbolized tradition meeting innovation. The concept broke radically with conventional conference openings and transformed the abstract interplay of AI and human expertise into an immersive show, positioning DWS as a future-oriented compass for the industry.
