The Event

Throughout the course of over a decade, Conventa has outgrown the framework of a classic business tradeshow, becoming a key meeting hub for meeting planners in New Europe.

Conventa embarked on its sustainable path in 2009. We quickly realised we had to establish a system of constant improvements to achieve sustainable transformation. Thus, we initiated our in-house CONVENTA 5R model: Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Refuse. In 2020, we evolved the model by implementing a holistic management system of sustainable measures for Conventa. The model comprises interconnected steps to organise our event sustainably. Each year, we start by making a transparent pledge, followed by sustainable organisation and implementing a comprehensive system of green measures. Educating key stakeholders and measuring carbon footprint is crucial as it creates a basis for further action and opens new ways for carbon offset. A pivotal part of our strategy is our handbook containing guidelines, accessible to all who wish to start organising sustainable events. Our tangible solution for one of the meetings industry’s most pressing challenges received positive responses.
