MSC Cruises has officially christened MSC World Europa, its first LNG-powered ship, during a traditional ceremony at the new terminal in Doha.
The event, in collaboration with Qatar Airways and the Supreme Committee, and with Her Excellency Sheikah Hind Bint Hamad Al Thani as godmother, was held in the presence of international guests, influencers, media and travel agents welcomed on a Blue Carpet animated by local artisans and artists.
The ceremony saw the alternation of a show of 600 drones, a video mapping created for the first time on the hull of a ship in collaboration with Ouchhh Studio, performances by the Qatar Youth Choir and the international artist Matteo Bocelli, a fireworks display and a gala dinner on board the ship.
Exclusive NFTs were also created, sold during the evening through an Auction, the proceeds of which were donated to the MSC Foundation which deals with projects related to environmental protection.
