The Event

Heineken brought UEFA Champions League to Belo Horizonte for the first time with a musical twist: a live band turned match moments into a real-time soundtrack for fans inside a custom-built arena.

Football is a game of rhythm. What if we made that literal? For the first time, Heineken turned a live UEFA Champions League match into a musical performance. We created a stadium-village from scratch, with grandstands, lounges, and lighting, and placed a live band inside it. Led by top Brazilian producer Xuxa Gonçalves, the band responded in real time to the match with beats, solos, and full arrangements for each twist, from goal to corner kick. Football became a score. Fans did not just watch, they felt the game in their bones.

We built a modular Heineken-branded arena in a symbolic open-air space in Belo Horizonte, combining the aesthetics of a modern football stadium and music venue. Inside, fans found terraces, green rooms, interactive activities, themed bars, and a musical VAR stage. The core was a full band synchronised to the match, using real-time cues to compose the soundtrack of the night, shifting tempo with the game’s mood. The setup blended urban culture, sport, and live performance in a 360 degree fan experience.
