International Formula 1 race in Jeddah, showcasing speed, innovation, and entertainment; aims to promote Saudi Arabia globally and attract motorsport fans and tourists.
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Opening & Closing Ceremonies, delivered by 555 Live Experience, aimed to showcase Saudi Arabia as a hub for world-class live entertainment while honoring Formula 1’s 75th anniversary and the 5th anniversary of the Saudi GP. The Opening Ceremony offered an emotional journey through F1’s history, from iconic victories to the remembrance of Ayrton Senna, connecting generations of fans worldwide. The Closing Ceremony celebrated Saudi Arabia’s role in hosting one of F1’s most dramatic street races, linking motorsport prestige with the Kingdom’s cultural and tourism ambitions. In addition, 555 managed the Trophy Ceremony and the Happiness Program, reinforcing continuity from competition to celebration. The objective was to inspire national pride, drive global media impact, and establish Saudi Arabia as an innovative destination for sport, culture, and tourism.
The creative concept fused heritage with cutting-edge innovation. For the Opening Ceremony, 2,000 drones formed iconic imagery from F1’s 75 years, while lasers traced and “wrote” across the drones in real time, a world’s first. The show extended across the 2.77 km track length, shorelines, rooftops, and the Red Sea, ensuring every grandstand enjoyed a unique perspective. Pyro planes, synchronized with the drone formations, created precision-timed aerial choreography where plane movements directed drone light effects. The Closing Ceremony highlighted the 5th anniversary of the Saudi GP, combining fireworks, rooftop pyrotechnics, and shoreline effects into a panoramic 360° canvas. Innovation included the remote takeover of the Shangri-La façade LED screen directly from the Master Control Room, proving unmatched integration of live, broadcast, and digital systems.
