Carrefour and the Food Banks jointly launched “The Solidarity Kitchen”. The target? Cook 2,000 meals for the less fortunate in just 4 days. The cooking marathon took place in Brussels and Mechelen.
The pop-up kitchen “The Solidarity Kitchen” was presented in Brussels on December 14 and 15 and pitched its containers in Mechelen on December 21 and 22 at the Veemarkt. Under the professional guidance of a chef, volunteers rolled up their sleeves to prepare festive meals for people in need with Carrefour products.
Since 28 November, volunteers have been able to register via the website www.desolidairekeuken.be.
The success was great and all sessions were full in no time.
This promotion is supported by Sandra Bekkari, author of numerous cookbooks and known, among others, by the VTM program Open Kitchen. Not only does she conjure up the tastiest dishes on the table in an instant, she is also an ambassador for the Food Banks.
