The Riyadh Sphere: an icon where art and technology merge in 24 outdoor contents dedicated to sports, music, events, and Saudi traditions for Riyadh Season, from October 12, 2024 to May 1, 2025.
The main objective was to transform The Sphere at Boulevard World into an unprecedented cultural and spectacular communication medium during Riyadh Season. Through 24 original digital, outdoor, and immersive contents created with AI, CGI, and VFX, the Sphere was conceived as a dynamic platform to showcase major international events in sports, music, fashion, and awards, to accompany concerts and attractions at Boulevard World, and to celebrate Saudi national occasions such as Flag Day, Founding Day, EID and international ones such asNew Year’s Eve.
The intent was twofold: on one hand, to establish the Sphere as an artistic and technological icon capable of redefining urban storytelling; on the other, to engage millions of visitors in emotional and spectacular experiences, strengthening Saudi cultural identity and positioning Riyadh Season as one of the world’s largest global entertainment events.
The creative idea stemmed from the desire to transform the Sphere at Boulevard World, an iconic landmark of Riyadh Season, into a living digital canvas capable of telling stories and celebrating events through cutting-edge imagery and technology. With a diameter of nearly 33 meters, The Sphere was conceived as a multisensory urban stage able to engage and dialogue with millions of visitors.
As an inaugural gesture, Pepper’s Ghost created and gifted the first 3D portraits of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, officially marking the opening of the Season.
Pepper’s Ghost produced 24 original digital contents, developed with AI, CGI, and VFX, supporting major sports, fashion, music, award events, and national celebrations.
The innovative element lies in the integrated use of emerging technologies and immersive storytelling, transforming architecture into a living work of art and a powerful cultural communication medium.
