The Event

Volkswagen Golf celebrated its 50th anniversary with a festival in a unique venue, connecting fans across generations, reinforcing passion and brand awareness.

The main objective was to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Volkswagen Golf, a model that has accompanied eight generations of Spaniards. We aimed to create a completely unique event that captured the essence of the brand, strengthened the emotional connection with its community, and generated a significant cross-generational impact. The activation sought to boost brand awareness, inviting attendees to experience, celebrate and share their passion for the Golf, reinforcing their bond with the model, and positioning Volkswagen as a close, innovative, and memorable brand.

The Golf is one of the best-selling cars in European history, with 36 million units sold, so its 50th anniversary demanded an event worthy of this achievement and the shared memories of generations of fans.
We designed an experience that not only attracted but also moved and excited attendees, making them feel part of something much bigger.
To achieve this, we chose a unique and unexpected location, connected to the joy of traveling and sharing a passion for the Golf.
Inspired by the campaign slogan “Forever Golf. Since 1974”, we created La Gran Golfada a play on words translated as The Great Golf Gathering: a festival, where the entry ticket was the key to your own car, featuring live music, food, and fun activations to celebrate five decades of unforgettable moments.
The unexpected venue being an airfield we course had an airplane flying over displaying a timeless Golf message.
