The Event

Football fans, nominated by a loved one, won an exclusive experience to watch their team’s EURO 2020 match. A unique surprise in COVID-times with pickup by boat, a special performance, and local food.

After a year of lockdowns, the need to go out again in the summer of 2021 was overwhelming, but, disappointingly in the Netherlands strict COVID-measures were still in place around EURO 2020. We wanted to answer the need for togetherness and celebration and decided to turn the feeling of safety at home into a festive location by creating the most fun living room you could ever experience: ‘De Leukste Huiskamer’. Inspired by the design of EURO 2020 with the iconic bridges of the participating cities, we chose a matching, unique location: the bridge keeper’s houses. There are 28 of these iconic houses spread all over Amsterdam, so we used a bunch of them as billboards to generate attention and awareness. Only one of them, in the middle of the famous Amstel in the heart of Amsterdam, was also transformed inside. This one-of-a-kind house was the place where 45 Amsterdam football fans – nominated by their loved ones – and their friends could experience EURO 2020 at its best.
