SAP d-com 2025 aims to build a global developer community that fosters learning, exchange, and identification. The platform connects hybrid, virtual, and local formats into a holistic experience that shares knowledge, inspires people, and makes the SAP Developer Community visible worldwide. Emotional storytelling through the custom-developed five-part anime series “Developers League” creates identification, sparks conversation, and reflects the everyday life of developers while subtly conveying strategic goals. At the heart of the story is Judy, a young developer who overcomes challenges with her team and embodies the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and growth. The focus of d-com and the “Developers League” is on strengthening community, innovation, and personal growth. SAP d-com demonstrates how event formats, through co-creation and creative staging, generate lasting impact and activate the community throughout the year.
SAP d-com began as a one-time kick-off meeting (SAP d-kom with a “k”) and, through close co-creation between SAP and MCI, evolved into a year-round global event platform (d-com with “c” – “com” standing for community). Today, it unites three formats: a hybrid kick-off with executive keynotes, virtual deep dives with masterclasses and community sessions, and 37 local events in 21 countries. All formats are connected by a consistent visual language and a strong internal brand identity, developed collaboratively. At the heart of SAP d-com is the custom five-part anime series “Developers League,” produced entirely in-house with AI support. Tools like Midjourney, Photoshop, and After Effects were used for story development, character design, and visual realization. This approach created a format that is both technologically innovative and creatively unique, emotionally connecting the community and reflecting the spirit of co-creation.
