During Milan Design Week 2025 Buccellati unveils Naturalia: inspired by the untamed beauty of forests, mountains, and the sea, this exhibition offers a poetic exploration of the Maison’s craftsmanship
The goal of Naturalia was to attract, engage and enchant the design week audience about the very special silver masterpieces of Buccellati and the refined craftsmanship required to master the art of the silverware of the Maison. Three visitor’s call to actions were combined with silver icons created especially for the installation in each of the three natural environment: an invitation to watch closely a silver feather to discover the complexity of the furry technique; to touch with his hands a silver leaf to experience the complexity of the engraving of the textures; and to listen with his ear a silver shell to discover the sounds of the craftsmen’s workings on the precious metal. The three immersive environments, dedicated to the mountain, the forest and the sea, became a spectacular, dynamic and unexpected showcase unveiling the Buccellati silver creatures inside worlds suspended between technology and nature.
The concept was inspired by the ancient “Wunderkammer”, where “Naturalia”, the wonders of the nature, and “Artificialia”, the wonders of the manmade arts, were collected. The Buccellati creatures reproduce animal and vegetal, but through the art of the most refined silver craftsmanship, so they master both worlds. The idea of the installation is to use the most recent technologies, without seeing them, to create immersive natural enchanting environments suspended between real and surreal. A nature that’s familiar, but surprisingly unexpected, to highlight the unicity of objects of wonder as the Buccellati natural creatures. The exhibition space was conceived as an impressive temporary architecture measuring 27 mt in length, 12 mt in width, and 6 mt in height. Enclosed within a striking, monochromatic façade, the structure stood as an emblem of refined simplicity and contemporary elegance, serving as both a frame and a prelude to the poetic world of Naturalia.
