The Event

The German Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka is a living exhibit that conveys a clear and compelling message: circular economy is the foundation of a sustainable future.

The German Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka is a living exhibit that brings the Expo’s overarching theme – “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” – to life through a clear and compelling message: circular economy is the foundation of a sustainable future. Welcome to “Wa! Germany!”. Here, visitors don’t simply explore a pavilion – they step into a fully circular cosmos and experience how life in a circular future might feel like. Everything follows the principle of the cycle: architecture, garden, exhibition, and narrative.

The German Pavilion’s creative concept translates circularity into an immersive visitor experience. Instead of abstract messaging, the exhibition lets visitors physically encounter circular practices – through real materials, scalable reuse systems, and visible design processes. The spatial journey connects architecture, content, and scenography: from cylindrical volumes that optimize material use to hands-on exhibits developed with academic and industry partners. This narrative experience makes complex sustainability research accessible and relatable, turning the pavilion into a living demonstration of how circularity can shape everyday life.
