The Event

Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai brings together 158 countries under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, with a focus on saving, enhancing and connecting lives.

The Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka aimed to strengthen Italy’s cultural diplomacy and global reputation as a country of art, innovation and sustainability. The event sought to promote dialogue between Italy and Japan through a contemporary reinterpretation of Italian creativity, showcasing how culture can inspire social and environmental regeneration. The goal was to engage visitors emotionally and intellectually, creating connections between institutions, businesses and citizens. Participants were invited to experience the Italian way of shaping the future—where beauty, design and technology come together to foster collaboration and shared responsibility across cultures.

Under the concept “Art Regenerates Life”, the Italian Pavilion reinterprets the Renaissance Ideal City as a contemporary cultural ecosystem where art, architecture and technology meet. Designed by Mario Cucinella Architects and produced by Triumph Group International and Ega Worldwide, the project transforms space into an immersive narrative that evolves with the audience. Multimedia installations, augmented reality and interactive performances connect visitors with the essence of Italian creativity. Innovation lies in the fusion of emotional storytelling and sustainable design, turning the Pavilion into a living artwork that communicates Italy’s identity through beauty, participation and shared values.
