From January 18th to 20th, the Convention FTO Malta 2024 took place, a major event dedicated to the tourism industry. The convention aimed to update travel agents, journalists, and key suppliers on the latest tourism trends, providing an overview of the emerging challenges and opportunities in the sector. Special focus was placed on promoting sustainable tourism, encouraging practices that reduce the environmental and social impact of tourist activities. The event also represented a significant networking opportunity, facilitating meetings between various actors in the tourism supply chain and fostering the creation of new collaborations and strategic partnerships. Additionally, training sessions were organized for industry professionals, with the aim of enhancing skills and preparing operators to face the new dynamics of the market. The convention also explored new market opportunities, contributing to the growth and innovation of tourism.

The event unfolded in two phases. The first involved a day of work with institutions, managers, destinations, and the press, aimed at analyzing results and setting new goals. Among the participants were Malta’s Minister for Tourism and Public Cleanliness, the CEO of MTA, and the Director of MTA Italy, who facilitated international exchange dynamics, highlighting the global significance of the event. The second phase, dedicated to entertainment, led participants to explore Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, through an activity that combined networking and gamification. Malta, chosen for the FTO 2024 Convention, stands out for its strategic location, excellent tourism infrastructure, and personalized hospitality. The evening visit to Mdina, with vintage cars and a gala dinner in an ancient palace, offered a unique experience, blending history, tradition, and modernity while preserving the authenticity of the places.
