Transform Riyadh into an open-air museum with more then 325 artworks presented. For 2 consecutive
editions, we were in charge of curating and producing the event, and developing all media content.
Noor Riyadh: an annual city-wide festival that celebrates light and art. It features a world-class exhibition
and a rich program of activities, including educational workshops, lectures and performances. Noor Riyadh
brings together the finest artworks of light by leading international and Saudi artists, and covers the largest
city area of any light art festival in the world.
Objectives include:
– Offer a selection of leading international artists
– Design a visitor experience that allows the Saudi public to discover new works of art
– Put Riyadh on the map of major art festivals
– Raise the festivals profile worldwide.
In order to offer an experience of art discovery to a broad and uninitiated public, our aim was to
design a different program in various parts of the city.
– On a city-wide scale: a laser-show spanning over more than 6 km, beaming down on the
tallest skyscrapers every evening, aswell as an app, put online to help spectators synchronize
original soundtracks to the show.
– In parks: often visited by families, special programming was designed to bring the works to a
wide audience (7 to 77 years old). Workshops with artists were also offered.
– In emblematic sites of the capital: in an attempt to echo the history of the city, contemporary
artists created works to project the spectator into the future.
