The Amerigo Vespucci, the historic and iconic Navy Training Ship, Ambassador of UNESCO, UNICEF, and Italy, embarks on another world tour, visiting over 30 ports in 28 countries across 5 continents. During this incredible journey, it will, for the first time, combine the traditional training activities of the Officer Cadets with the promotion of Italian excellence.
The project aims to promote Italian excellence in terms of art, cuisine, design, landscapes, business, and technology by integrating initiatives and content from 11 ministries, the Ministry of Defense, embassies, promotional agencies, institutions of excellence, and partner companies.
The goal is to showcase the “country system” in a comprehensive, free, multimedia, inclusive village that is fully accessible, featuring a rich program of activities amplified by a sophisticated global communication platform.
Villaggio Italia welcomes the arrival of the Amerigo Vespucci at 8 ports, organized into thematic areas and exhibition pavilions, featuring a comprehensive program curated by Italy’s top authorities and excellence. It offers participants a unique opportunity to attend conferences, talks, exhibitions on Made in Italy, lounges for business and institutional meetings, cinema, concerts, showcooking, immersive exhibitions, art, sports, technology, design, presentations, and onboard visits. Each stop of the Village is inaugurated with an opening ceremony that involves national and local institutions, as well as representatives from prestigious companies and international personalities. The international audience—companies, individuals, and local Italian communities abroad—will connect with the best of Made in Italy and learn about the latest research results, as well as innovative products developed by Italy’s most advanced companies.
