This sporting event, which began 47 years ago as a pioneering indoor competition, aims to promote, increase visibility, and grow indoor trial riding while being part of the world championship. Currently a non-profit event, our main objectives include:
• Increasing audience attendance each edition and maintaining our status as the world’s most attended indoor trial event.
• Building a community around this sport by sharing engaging content throughout the year on our social media channels, informing fans about not only this event but also the X-Trial and TrialGP championships.
• Women’s Trophy: Since 2021, we have celebrated the Women’s Trophy, providing equal competitive opportunities and visibility for female riders as the only indoor trial competition for women in the world.
With support from the City Council of Barcelona, our event is non-profit, focusing on audience growth, community building, and female competition.
In 1978, the creation of this event introduced the indoor trial format, which did not previously exist for the sport, pioneering the concept globally and laying the groundwork for similar events in cities like Toulouse, Montpellier and Nice. Bringing the competition from open fields into an indoor arena allowed fans to get up close to the world’s top riders, combining sport with spectacle for a unique entertainment experience. Over the years, key innovations have included:
• Moving to a larger, modern stadium with increased capacity and the ability to create more spectacular courses.
• Launching the Women’s Trophy in 2021, the only indoor trial competition for women worldwide.
• Using recycled and renewable materials for course obstacles, making the event 100% sustainable.
• Engaging fans through social media.
• Live TV broadcasting.
• Social commitment: 20 tickets are given away to non-profit groups, and this year 2024 the beneficiary association is SPAAI Can Aguilera, which supports
