The Event

A large-scale Christmas experience turning Metro Madrid into a symbol of festive magic, sustainability, and innovation, engaging families with storytelling and immersive brand activation.

Metro de Madrid aimed to go beyond its role as a transport system and reposition itself as a cultural, social, and sustainable icon of the city. The event sought to improve brand perception by showing the Metro as an innovative, accessible, and environmentally responsible option. A central objective was to highlight the arrival of new automated trains and the company’s commitment to smart, sustainable mobility solutions. By creating a magical and educational Christmas experience for families, the activation connected emotionally with visitors, inspired children to see Metro as part of their everyday lives, and promoted the Metro store as a natural extension of the brand. Ultimately, the initiative emphasized sustainability, inclusion, and innovation, while aligning with Metro’s mission to enrich urban life in Madrid and position itself at the heart of the city’s cultural fabric.

The creative concept reimagined the historic Nave de Motores as “La Estación de la Navidad,” a dreamlike journey blending festive magic with the values of Metro de Madrid. Five themed spaces brought to life “El viaje de la Estrella de la Navidad,” a story of hope, unity, and sustainability. The design placed a real Metro train at the heart of the narrative, transforming it into a protagonist that symbolized progress and innovation. Surrounding this, immersive scenography, interactive lighting, and digital projections merged tradition with modern technology, creating a unique balance between past and future. The installation was conceived as a self-standing structure that respected the architectural heritage of the venue while delivering a contemporary cultural experience. This fusion of heritage, technology, and storytelling made the project stand out as a pioneering example of how transport infrastructure can serve as a cultural and festive platform for public engagement.
