WORLDWIDE – Corona Celebrates Its 100th Anniversary on the Beach and Launches the “Corona 100” Platform
The global beer brand marks 100 years of beachside culture and unveils the ultimate list of the world’s 100 most beautiful beaches.
Four Italian beaches are featured among the selected 100: Baia Verde (Gallipoli, Puglia), San Vito Lo Capo (Sicily), La Pelosa (Stintino, Sardinia), and Cala Domestica (Buggerru, Sardinia).
Corona – a brand of the AB InBev group – celebrates its 100th anniversary, a milestone for this iconic brand that has been synonymous with the beach, disconnection, and fully embracing the moment for a century. Since 1925, Corona has cultivated an authentic connection to the beach lifestyle, embodying a way of life centered on nature and togetherness, becoming a key part of what is now known as “beachside culture.”
Named the most prestigious beer brand in the world (Kantar BrandZ Global Ranking 2024), Corona has transformed each sip into a moment of connection through the quality of its product — made with 100% natural ingredients — and the iconic lime ritual, delivering more and more moments of “This is Living” around the world.
To celebrate its 100 years, Corona invites everyone to live their beach side – the best version of themselves – at some of the world’s most iconic beaches. The Corona 100 platform includes a celebratory short film capturing a century of beachside culture, along with a curated selection of 100 must-visit beaches where people can rediscover their most authentic selves.
“For a century, Corona has embodied the spirit of the beach, inspiring people to break away from their daily routines and reconnect with nature and each other,” said Clarissa Pantoja, Global VP Corona. “Loved by millions of consumers around the world and still growing, Corona will continue to stay true to its essence: inspiring people to live their own beach side, embracing the spirit of This is Living—leaving routine behind, reconnecting with what truly matters, and savoring every moment. This anniversary is not just a celebration of our legacy, but also an invitation to look ahead with the same spirit and to live your best side — your beach side — today, tomorrow, and for the next 100 years.”
A Century of “Beachside Culture”
Telling the story of these 100 years is “This is Living Since 1925,” a short film that spans the decades of beachside culture in a single day. From early seaside gatherings to the bikini era, to today’s swimming and global surfing scenes, the archive-style film travels across beaches and coasts worldwide, offering an emotional journey through time.
Created in collaboration with Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam, the film shows how Corona has always been a natural part of beach culture — a timeless and iconic presence since 1925.
The celebration continues with a 360° platform including digital content, trade assets, and out-of-home (OOH) campaigns, all highlighting how Corona has long been a global symbol for those seeking their own beach side — wherever they are, in every season.
“This is Living” Campaign
The “This is Living” campaign is live on TV with 15-second spots, streaming on Prime Video with 15″ and 30″ videos, and online with static and video assets (6″, 15″, and 30″) across social media and YouTube.
In Milan, the campaign features a high-impact OOH installation near the Duomo, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks — a powerful visual aligning Corona’s message with a globally recognized setting, reinforcing its connection to an authentic lifestyle.
100 Years, 100 Iconic Beaches
To honor a century in the best way, the brand launched Corona Beach 100: an exclusive selection and interactive guide to the world’s most iconic beaches, perfectly reflecting Corona’s “This is Living” platform.
From hidden coves to legendary coasts to remote paradises, these beaches aren’t just destinations — they’re places where people have gone for centuries to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature.
Four Italian beaches made the Corona Beach 100 list:
- Baia Verde, Gallipoli (Puglia)
- San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily
- La Pelosa, Stintino (Sardinia)
- Cala Domestica, Buggerru (Sardinia)
“It’s fantastic that Italy is represented by four beaches in this global anniversary celebration honoring the authentic spirit of This is Living,” said Ief Timmermans, Country Director of AB InBev Italy. “Seeing La Pelosa and Cala Domestica in Sardinia, San Vito Lo Capo in Sicily, and Baia Verde in Puglia among the Corona Beach 100 is a meaningful recognition of the country’s beauty and its deep connection to nature. This initiative is a powerful invitation to disconnect from the fast pace of life and reconnect with your most authentic self. Since 1925, Corona has stood for this lifestyle, and it continues to inspire people to live genuinely and stay close to nature.”
To create the guide, Corona assembled a panel of beach experts — including oceanographers, surfers, free divers, and nature specialists — who evaluated hundreds of beaches around the world based on strict and exclusive criteria.
Each Corona Beach 100 location received a Sun Award, ranked from one to three suns, based on three key factors reflecting the true This is Living spirit:
- Beachside Culture
- Connection with Nature
- Scenic Beauty
The guide features sandy wonders from South Africa, Mexico, and Brazil, as well as lesser-known coastlines like Punta de Lobos (Chile), Stokksnes Beach (Iceland), and Cox Bay Beach (Canada) — and many more.
