UK – 2020 vision at Scotland business conference
The one-day Scotland’s business tourism industry conference at Glasgow Science Centre on 19 November will focus on how the business tourism industry, which contributes £878m to the Scottish economy, can grow further.
Speakers include Bob Wendover, the long-standing director of The Centre for Generational Studies and Corbin Ball, a meetings technology consultant. Scottish Enterprise, VisitScotland’s Business Tourism Unit and the Convention Bureaux have worked together to create a forward-thinking, informative and business-focused day for all members of the business tourism community in Scotland.
Neil Brownlee, head of Business Tourism at VisitScotland, said: “If we are to maintain and develop our position on the world stage, we must look to the future and think ahead to the conferences and events of 2020 and beyond. We are seeing a new generation of buyers coming into the industry; a generation which has grown up in the online world and which expects constant innovation – both in terms of technology and new ideas. Scotland’s challenge is to keep up with the pace of change.”
The conference will close with a speech from Fergus Ewing, Scottish Government Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism.
