SPAIN – MEDIAPRO EVENTS DELIVERS SPECTACULAR COPA DEL REY FINAL CEREMONY WITH REAL MADRID AND FC BARCELONA

Mediapro Events was responsible for creating the spectacular opening ceremony of the Copa del Rey final, held at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville. This marked the first time the stadium was used since its renovation.

The ceremony, produced in a record time of just two weeks, involved 165 professionals from various logistical, technical, and artistic areas. The human effort was accompanied by an unprecedented technical display for a Copa del Rey final ceremony:

  • 21 lasers, both volumetric and aerial, positioned on the stadium’s roof to create designs on the pitch.
  • 250 robotic lights placed at field level and various heights throughout the stadium.
  • 116 special effects devices.
  • An arch at the exit of the players’ tunnel, accompanied by special effects for the players’ entrance onto the field.
  • Two platforms, one for the initial placement of the trophy and another for the final celebration of the winning team.

The ceremony began with a complete blackout of the stadium lighting, followed by a video projected on the scoreboard screens depicting the Copa del Rey’s journey from the outside to the inside of the stadium by air.

The 70,000 spectators at La Cartuja were awestruck as they saw a pilot flying on a spectacular illuminated hoverboard, carrying the oldest trophy in Spanish football. After flying over the field and landing at its center, the trophy was handed to a child dressed in the colors of Athletic Club, the 2024 Copa del Rey champions.

Once the trophy was placed on a platform in the center of the pitch, a giant silhouette of the trophy was illuminated, marking the beginning of a stunning and surprising show of light, color, and sound.

Laser images in 3D were projected on the field, referencing the city of Seville, the Estadio de La Cartuja, the Copa del Rey, and of course, the two finalist teams, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The show continued with the announcer introducing the 22 players who would compete in the match. The starting lineups were projected on the field, with the players’ names being cheered by both fanbases.

The ceremony concluded with three children, dressed in the colors of Athletic Club, FC Barcelona, and Real Madrid, carrying the trophy from the center of the field to the base at the exit of the players’ tunnel, just moments before the teams emerged to hear the national anthem.

After the match, Mediapro Events also designed the trophy presentation ceremony and the FC Barcelona players’ celebration with a spectacular display of lights and special effects.

It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable night in the 124th edition of the Copa del Rey final, brought to you by Mediapro Events.
