SPAIN – Acciona Producciones Y Diseño carries out the production of the first A400M Official Handover Ceremony
The agency was in charge of the design and technical production of the event that included a light show projected on the new military transport aircraft purchased by the Spanish Air Force.
The handover ceremony of the first Airbus Defence and Space A400M transport plane to Spain’s Ministry of Defence was presided by the Defence Minister, Mª Dolores de Cospedal, and by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Francisco Javier García Arnaiz.
The event, which took place in Seville on 1st December, is a very important milestone for the sector, as it was the first time that this military plane type is part of the Spanish Air Force.
To celebrate this institutional event, Acciona Producciones Y Diseño designed and carried out the production of the stage set, directed the audio-visual production, the way finding elements, lighting and sound, and the audio-visual equipment.
At the opening, a video was screened featuring images of the workers of the different Airbus factories in Europe involved in the construction, to highlight the European nature of the project. The act also included a light show projected on the freighter itself that simulated its flight.
The A400M handover ceremony took place in one of the hangars that Airbus has in Seville with the presence of 300 guests, among them important representatives of the institutional and business scene such as the President of the Andalusian Parliament, Juan Pablo Durán; the Government’s delegate in Andalucía, Antonio Sanz; the Mayor of Seville, Juan Espadas, and the president of Airbus España, Fernando Alonso.
Following the official handover, the A400M was transferred to the Zaragoza Air Base, to join the rest of the fleet.
