PORTUGAL – Portuguese venues make Google Indoor Maps available
The Indoor Maps is a feature that allows users to visualize a detailed map of the venue’s interior, finding useful information in terms of orientation. The Estoril Congress Center and Centro Cultural de Belém are part of this project that in Portugal includes also several other spaces, from football stadiums to shopping centres.
The Estoril Congress Center and Centro Cultural de Belém are providing, in a partnership with Google, the Indoor Maps. Integrated with Google Maps, this is a feature that allows users to visualize a detailed map of the venue’s interior, thus finding useful information in terms of orientation.
The two Portuguese venues are part of this project that in Portugal also includes several other spaces, from football stadiums, as the Dragão Stadium in Porto, to shopping centres, national monuments, public transport stations and universities.
The interior maps are a Google developing project and can be accessed through Google Maps zooming on the place or building. If it has more than one floor, the user can select the desired number by clicking on the required floor.
At present, Indoor Maps is available in 24 countries.
