PORTUGAL – Porto and Norte strengthen their bet on hosting international events
More than 40 international buyers from the meetings industry area were invited by the Porto Tourism Association (ATP) to discover the potential of the region, as well as its offer aimed at corporate events.
The visit, which took place from 17-20th November, served to consolidate Porto and the North region as appealing destinations for the organization of international events in this market segment.
ATP, the agency responsible for promoting and marketing tourism in Oporto, prepared a program of visits to Porto, Douro and Minho, which provided visitors with several surprising and differentiating experiences that allowed them not only to know the multiplicity of choices that the destination has to offer, but also to capture the unique and authentic essence that characterizes the region and its inhabitants.
Among the proposed activities there were bike rides, tram tracks, a cruise and train ride in the Douro, a visit to a wine cellar, as well as some of the main Monuments of the region.
The 43 international guests participating in this year’s initiative came from the United States, United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Spain and France.
