The evening began with a performance of the Berlin Staatskapelle orchestra under the direction of Daniel Barenboim at the Berlin Philharmonic. Following the concert, the anniversary dinner at the Academy was opened by the host, Prof W. Michael Blumenthal, Director Jewish Museum Berlin.
