By staging the shirt presentation precisely 100 days before the opening match against Hungary, Uniplan has laid the foundations for a new summer fairytale. On 17 March the VIPs from the World Cup Organising Committee, the German Football Association DFB and Uniplan launched the official team shirt in the Frankfurt Cocoon Club in the presence of more than 400 invited guests from the worlds of sport, politics and industry. They included the former swimming star Franziska van Almsick, DFB secretary-general Wolfgang Niersbach, the manager of the German women’s team, Silvia Neid, Frankfurt’s Mayor Petra Roth (CDU) and many German women internationalists.

In the glamorous sporting atmosphere, an intelligent connection took place between women’s football, the clubbing lifestyle and the occasion for the event: The anticipation in the run-up to the FIFA Women’s World Cup was increased and the new Germany shirt became a very effective focus of attention, in line with the motto “Fashion meets Football“.

“Our collaboration with FIFA and the DFB has grown over the years, and of course we are very pleased to be able to make our contribution to a successful German defence of the World Cup. This event, along with the design and implementation of the opening and closing ceremonies and the presentation of the trophy to the winners during the tournament itself this June, was another big highlight for us this year”, says Dr. Andrea Vossen, the Chief Marketing Officer of Uniplan.
