European Best Event Awards, the day of judgement
The “day of judgment”. On Tuesday October 4th, at the Atahotel Expo Fiera Pero (Milano), the representatives of the jury of the European Best Event Awards came together in a plenary session to confer the winners. After a first ‘screening’ online, the jurors have evaluated the 50 events in the shortlist. The jury is composed of business representatives, journalists and associative realities coming from all over Europe.
The jury is chaired by Carlo Hermes, Eni consultant. The 2011 edition has seen an increase in registered events: 100 against the 91 of last year. This edition has also welcomed the participation of one new country: Latvia has become part of this award, affirming its success throughout the European market.
After an intense day of assessment, the members of the Jury were interviewed and questioned about the events market in Europe, the new trends and the expectations for the future. The answers given describe a rather difficult situation, which, however, does not seem as dramatic as the current economic situation. More and more emphasis is put on technological innovation and the number of events using 3D is growing. Companies give a lot of attention to the Return on Investment and Events Managers must account for their activities in an increasingly precise way. European expertise and professionalism are making their way around the world, and countries such as Qatar and Dubai increasingly request the support of European agencies. Finally, the growing trend of mixing the fields of events and advertising invites us to reflect on their true nature.
The awards ceremony, that besides the Golden Elephant, will also grant the awards by typology and technical excellence decided on by the jury, will be held on November 23rd at the Spazio Eventiquattro in Viale Monte Rosa, 91 in Milan. This year Salvatore Sagone, creator of the award, has decided to repeat the last year celebration scheme. Thanks to the presentation of the projects by the winners themselves, the awards ceremony of the best European events becomes an important moment of training to establish the European benchmark and to understand the latest trends. An extraordinary afternoon not to miss that from 15:30 to 18:30 will host the most prestigious European agencies and firms.
