The Long Game for Peace has raised €120,000 through sports tournaments, uniting Nordic and Ukrainian event industries to provide aid and psychological support to those impacted by the war.
From the start, The Long Game for Peace was designed as a long-term initiative. Unlike short charity campaigns, this project is built to provide sustained, multi-year support to Ukraine. We knew that rebuilding peace, emotionally and physically, would take time, and we committed to playing the long game. We also aimed to offer aid far beyond what a company of our size could typically provide.
We set three objectives:
1) Engage 100 corporate partners: To mobilise the event industry and corporate partners across Finland, Sweden, and Norway;
2) Deliver €100,000 in aid: To provide tangible help through food, supplies, and psychological support;
3) Ensure long-term commitment: Create a concept easily replicable across countries, ensuring sustained support.
The project also united our LIWLIG team around shared values of pride and commitment. Our goal was not only to deliver aid but also to create a sense of purpose among our employees, showing how our work can impact beyond client projects.
The Long Game for Peace redefines charity events by transforming them from one-time engagements into a continuous, multi-year commitment. This long-term vision, combined with collaboration across Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Ukraine, sets it apart from traditional formats.
The initiative unites companies through recurring sports tournaments—street hockey, football, and padel—creating a sustainable platform for engagement and lasting impact. Hosting events across the Nordics offers a scalable model for ongoing support.
Our partnership with the Ukrainian event agency Plombir, who helped establish NGO Volunteer Hundred alongside other Ukrainian professionals, brings a vital local dimension. Together, we deliver not only financial aid but also essential supplies and psychological support to those affected by the war. The ongoing nature of The Long Game amplifies its reach, making it a powerful force in humanitarian aid and corporate responsibility.
