The Event

Launched in 2021, the NEB Festival fosters sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusion through exhibitions, shows, debates, and events, uniting citizens and experts to inspire and innovate.

The NEB festival brings innovation, ambition and creativity together. It calls on all Europeans to imagine and build a sustainable and inclusive future that is beautiful for our eyes, minds, and souls. At first, the NEB’s aim was to gather thousands of participants to experience the festival’s activities and happenings, thanks to a strong communication and media plan before and during the event. Additionally, the objectives include improving participant experiences with live streaming and a dedicated web app, introducing educational activities that promote NEB values, and prioritizing inclusivity through accessible venues and diverse representation. After visiting the festival, participants leave with a memorable experience that highlights the connection between architecture, beauty, design, sustainability, and EU governance.

The main objective was to create a creative and vibrant atmosphere in the dual constraint of the venues: the Parc du Cinquantenaire and the Royal Museum of Art and History. For the park, challenges included managing a large space with structural constraints, attracting visitors to this less-visited site, and sparking curiosity with innovative structures like the caterpillar and portable city partnerships. Negotiations with Belgian authorities were essential for developing the peristyle. For the museum, goals included making the entrance visible, surprising visitors upon arrival, and refreshing the site’s image with bright materials. Space optimization was key, with one area dedicated to exhibitions and multiple setups for various events throughout the week. Additionally, the networking area for clients and VIP rooms were designed with light, colourful furniture and decor to create an inviting environment.
