The Event

Belgium marked the 80th Battle of the Bulge with a moving Bastogne ceremony: historical, artistic, and veteran-focused, produced in just 3 weeks despite venue and budget limits.

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge with a ceremony that was both historically accurate and emotionally impactful. The event aimed to honour the memory of the fallen, express gratitude to surviving veterans, and transmit the values of peace, resilience, and unity to future generations. It was also designed to reinforce Belgium’s diplomatic ties with Allied nations, while offering a moment of national remembrance. Through immersive storytelling and respectful artistic expression, the ceremony sought to create a meaningful connection between past and present, history and humanity.

In just three weeks, we transformed a raw, non-conventional venue into a fully immersive commemorative experience. Using layered tulle screens, 360° projections, and spatialized sound, we created a sensory journey that brought history to life. Emotional storytelling unfolded through moving visuals, a custom-composed score, and live performance. The immersive sound design was carefully calibrated to respect veterans’ sensitivities, avoiding trauma while preserving authenticity. The scenography evoked the harsh winter of 1944, combining visual poetry with historical accuracy. This creative approach allowed us to honour the past with both innovation and reverence.
