The opening ceremony, a symbolic journey through Ghana and its regions, highlighted the country’s traditions and celebrated its cultural and ethnic diversity.
We integrated the parade of athletes into our “Golden Dream” tableau, which reflected the importance of gold in their traditional ceremonies and the athletes’ quest for the ultimate medal.
Sea and fishing were depicted with hand-painted pirogues, real fishermen, and LED nets.
Fauna and crafts, featuring animals from Mole Park, were enhanced by cubic screens creating a 3D effect, and giant traditional Bolga fans.
Forest and legends came alive with the portrayal of Anansi, the Spider God.
Weaving was showcased with 120 dancers recreating the Kente pattern. In the Black Star square, weaving was transformed into haute couture dresses, accompanied by Highlife legends, Pat Thomas & Ebo Taylor (78 & 88 years old).
The closing ceremony celebrated the artistic diversity of the African continent, uniting renowned and emerging artists.
