DENMARK – MINDfamtrips 2014: a major hit among International meeting planners

Great enthusiasm for Denmark and the Danish meeting design concept, Meetovation, among the 20 international meeting planners who attended the MINDfamtrip to Copenhagen in June 2014.

The meeting planners didn’t only visit meeting venues and hotels, but also experienced the innovative Danish meeting design concept, Meetovation, now fully extended since the programme was originally created according to Meetovation’s four elements: ‘active involvement’, ‘creative setups’, ‘local inspiration’ and ‘responsible thinking’, all aimed to improve RoMI – Return on Meetings Investment.

Both Denmark and the Meetovation concept were well received amongst the participants. “These last two days have been amazing, I’ve really enjoyed myself. I think it is one of the best training session I have actually ever been on,” said Marsha Campbell, network manager at Long Tall Sally.

“All the meetings in Copenhagen were very friendly, very informal and very affective. I think it is a very good idea to arrange the same meetings for some of our clients, for example, in Russia,” said Karim Mershergi, Manager at Carlson Wagonlit Travel, adding: “It is a good destination for the Russian market, because it is a very interesting place, very friendly people, very good new decisions for meeting concepts.”

MINDfamtrips are a key element in the Danish MINDblowing Meetings campaign created by VisitDenmark and Wonderful Copenhagen in close collaboration with local partners in the Copenhagen meetings industry.

In 2014, the MINDblowing Meetings campaign features two additional fam-trips to Copenhagen for international meeting planners in August and September 2014, the local MINDtalk events in the UK, Germany, US, Sweden and Norway, and the major MINDevent on 1-3 December, which gathers meeting planners and journalists worldwide in the Danish capital. The MINDevent 2014 participation can also be extended with a two-day international Meetovation training course in the city on 3-4 December 2014.
