DENMARK – Meetovation: ‘You are engaged, active and involved’

During a famtrip in Copenhagen last June, 20 international meeting planners experienced the Danish meetings design concept Meetovation first hand and left with new ideas and concrete tools to plan their future meetings.

denmarkThe purpose of Meetovation is to maximize the return of investment on your meeting or event through improved participant involvement; new approaches to arranging meetings venues, and greater attention paid to linking the event to its destination.

“The best thing about Meetovation is that you are not only involved with the venue but also with the people around you. You are distracted from the usual one-way communication – you are engaged, active, and involved, and I loved it!” says Jardena Kifle, Marketing Manager, Events, at Hamburg Convention Bureau, who has already chosen Copenhagen for a number of meetings this autumn.

In each of the venues the planners visited in Copenhagen, they experienced the five elements of Meetovation, i.e. return on investment, active involvement, creative setup, local inspiration, and responsible thinking.

Sandra Serrant, Owner of SgS Events ReDesigned from the US, was thrilled about the Meetovation concept, and highlights an eye-opening experience with the element ‘responsible thinking’: “Many people in the US think that sustainability is going to break their budget. However, what I have learned the past two days is that it can be affordable and flexible. I think Denmark is leading the world in terms of that.”

The MINDfamtrip was arranged by Wonderful Copenhagen and VisitDenmark in close cooperation with a number of local partners in the Copenhagen meetings industry.
