BELGIUM – BEA Caterers Choose High-Quality Local Suppliers

During the recent BEA Awards, ten event caterers gave their very best to offer the 1,000 BEA guests a unique culinary experience. To deliver this level of quality, they work daily with carefully selected suppliers from their own regions.

For the occasion of BEA 2024, each caterer highlighted one of their suppliers as an ambassador. At the various food stands, BEA guests could scan a QR code, giving them access to a video telling the story of the featured ambassador. We’re pleased to present these ten ambassadors once more. And if you scan the QR code on this page, you can rewatch all ten videos at your leisure.

Bert&Co

Bert&Co consciously opts for a farm-to-table concept with organic ingredients. They work, among others, with the garden of the non-profit Oep Den Hof in Schilde. Any surplus is donated to the food banks of vzw Stroboertje.

BonApart Catering

BonApart Catering from Roeselare always seeks locally and sustainably grown products. Vegetables, for example, are purchased from Verschil Naturelle, where Ilse van Acker grows everything using permaculture methods, without spraying and with exceptionally high quality.

Cardinal Catering

Cardinal Catering partners with JOKA, a company that’s more than just a wholesaler in charcuterie and delicacies. JOKA focuses on specialization and innovation to ensure consistently high quality. Pure quality and a short supply chain—that’s the story Cardinal Catering believes in.

Coeur Catering

For many years, Coeur Catering has aimed to be a pioneer in sustainable entrepreneurship. The company also seeks those values in its suppliers. One example is Pastati, a social enterprise that gives people opportunities in the job market—while producing delicious pasta.

De Feestarchitect

De Feestarchitect from Destelbergen is a family business offering fresh, high-quality cuisine. One of their local suppliers is Duroc d’Olives, a pig farm where animals have ample space and are fed a special diet that includes olive oil as a fat source. The result is tender, juicy, and exceptionally tasty meat.

Deldycke Traiteurs

GOODMEAT from Aalter has long been a partner of Deldycke Traiteurs. The company, with roots going back to the early 20th century, breeds the Belfurn Angus cattle breed known for its premium meat. They also maintain a strong focus on animal welfare.

Gourmet Invent

Gourmet Invent collaborates closely with Filip Claeys, founder of North Sea Chefs, who promotes sustainable fishing and fair fish from our own North Sea. His work at restaurant De Jonkman is scaled up by Gourmet Invent for a broader audience—introducing people to less familiar fish species.

J&M Catering

One of J&M Catering’s loyal partners is Schelkens Poultry from Londerzeel. Now in its fifth generation, this family business focuses mainly on free-range animals and continues to invest in this, including a new facility. J&M can count not only on a quality product but also on flexible service.

The Street Food Company

Brasvar pig farm in Nevele is one of The Street Food Company’s regular suppliers. The Duroc pigs are fed local products from nearby food companies. The authentic character of Brasvar meat fits perfectly with the flavors The Street Food Company aims to bring to its dishes.

Very Food Catering

Very Food Catering always deliberately chooses quality products—even when it comes to spices. They partner with Food Travellers Premium Spices, a Ghent-based company that sources its high-end spices exclusively from small-scale family businesses or cooperatives, directly from farmers and at fair prices.
