UK – Singapore Airlines brings the Grand Prix to Canary Wharf
The Marina Bay Street Formula One circuit in Singapore appeared in London on 15th July, as Singapore Airlines launched an interactive driving experience in Canary Wharf.
The event, which is set to run until 18th July, has given wannabe racing drivers the chance to try out a full-sized simulator and speed around the Asian track in the middle of Canada Place shopping centre.
The fastest lap will win a luxury trip for two to the airline-sponsored Singapore Grand Prix in September. The prize includes business class flights, accommodation for four nights, grandstand tickets for the race and entry to the Podium Lounge hospitality area after the event.
The activation is open between 10am and 7.30pm so that City workers can compete with each other out of the office. Places can be pre-booked online, however, Singapore Airlines PPS and KrisFlyer members can jump the queue.
On the first day, Formula One driver Max Chilton has made a special appearance with sports broadcaster Natalie Pinkham and set a lap time around the circuit.
