UK – London gets ‘Creative’ for IMEX
Taking inspiration from the dazzling
visuals and colour of last year’s opening ceremony created by Danny
Boyle, London’s official CVB London & Partners are using ‘Creative’
as the key theme to their IMEX 2013 stand, which includes a number of
creative themed activities across the business trade show IMEX which
takes place in Frankfurt, 21-23 May 2013.
The first activity planned is an eye-catching colour swatch which will
be given away free to event planners to keep on their desks and use as
inspiration when they look to the UK capital for events and conferences.
All delegates have to do is make an appointment and speak to the London
& Partners team on stand F400 and they will be given a free swatch.
The swatch includes brand new events spaces such as Historic Royal
Palaces Kensington Palace’s light sculpture Luminous Lace and the Senses
Room at hotel Lancaster London as well as activities such as
Alternative London which is an East London walking tour which sees
delegates immerse themselves in the über trendy art scene in Shoreditch
and Hoxton. As well as seeing some of the world’s most renowned street
art in East London delegates get a chance to pick-up a spray can and get
creative for themselves on a specially converted double-decker bus
which acts as a temporary art base for delegates for the day event.
Barbara Jamison, Head Business Development Europe for London &
Partners says of the theme: “A lot of people focused on the amazing Sport
aspect of London last year but it’s worth remembering that London also
hosted a hugely successful cultural Olympiad too. This saw the world’s
most talented artists, musicians and actors all coming to celebrate
London’s diverse and vast creative offering and that’s what we want to
highlight at this year at IMEX 2013 show. London really does offer an
outstanding amount of events, venues, team building, conference spaces
and down-time activities which just aren’t available anywhere else.
We’ve also noticed that the majority of those creative activities –
especially group trips to our Museums and Galleries are low-cost or for
world renowned galleries such as Tate Modern, National Gallery or
Saatchi Gallery they are totally free – so adding that really unique
creative London touch doesn’t come with the price tag of a Van Gogh or
Damian Hirst!”.
As well as the free creative swatches London & Partners will also be
hosting an interactive London map – which comes from creative events
agency Smyle and will also be hosting creative themed drinks every
afternoon on their stand from 4pm (Tues) – 4.15pm (Weds).
