UK – Ebay celebrates 20th birthday with Thames cake PR stunt
As part of the e-commerce website’s 20th Birthday celebrations, eBay is currently floating a massive birthday cake down the Thames.
EBay has ferried a birthday cake down the Thames to celebrate its two decade anniversary. The PR stunt culminates as part of the e-commerce giant’s month-long birthday bash.
Setting sail in Stratford, the two-tier six-metre-tall cake travelled up the Thames and back again before lighting up the night sky on Friday 11th September. In fact, the cake was complete with 20 candles, which lit up at night.
In an additional social media push from the brand, eBay encouraged Twitter users to tweet their dream birthday wish – to be in with a chance of winning it.
