UK – Carnival atmosphere at the Retail Trust ball
Representatives from American Express, Debenhams, Deloitte, Burberry and The Walt Disney Company were among guests at Retail Trust’s fundraising gala. VIP guests included retail entrepreneur Harold Tillman, Philip Green, chief executive of the Arcadia Group, and Jamie and Louise Redknapp.
The evening was hosted by Anton Du Beke from BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, and Edward Rising, auctioneer from Sotheby’s. More than £1m was raised for the charity on the night.
Evolve Events brought to life the carnival theme through a turquoise, yellow, fuchsia and orange colour scheme, with tables decorated with pink and orange ostrich feather centrepieces and branded carnival masks.
Guests were greeted by carnival performers on arrival, and comedian and rapper Abandoman and Gilev Showband later performed on stage.
A number of fundraising opportunities were provided throughout the event including vibrant tombola trees, from which hung envelopes containing prizes.
Gary Peters, managing director at Evolve Events, said: “We wanted to ensure that guests had every opportunity to give to the cause and it’s fantastic to see that the fundraising target was met. The carnival theme allowed us to create stunning visual elements throughout The Great Room, making for a vibrant evening which truly celebrated the work of Retail Trust.”
