SPAIN – PCMA ANNOUNCES SEVILLE AS THE NEW HOST CITY FOR CONVENING EMEA 2027

Convening EMEA closed this week in Lisbon, welcoming 565 in-person attendees and reaching a total of 814 participants when including its global digital audience, representing 42 countries. This milestone makes it the largest Convening EMEA to date. During the event, Sherrif Karamat, CAE, President and CEO of PCMA and CEMA, announced that Seville will host Convening EMEA 2027 from September 13 to 15, 2027.

The return to Seville holds a prominent place in PCMA’s European trajectory, which last brought its European community to the Andalusian capital in 2018 for the European Influencers Summit. On that occasion, the conference brought together approximately 150 participants, whereas the upcoming edition is expected to gather more than 600 in-person attendees alongside a global digital audience.

The 2027 edition will take place in collaboration with Andalusia and Seville, bringing PCMA’s EMEA community to a region that, according to the organization, has identified the business events sector as a strategic priority and is investing in its international profile, sustainability, innovation, and long-term development.

It will be held at FIBES and will feature the destination as the backdrop for PCMA’s signature blend of education, networking, experimentation, and immersive experiences. Targeting business event strategists, event marketers, association and corporate leaders, partners, and next-generation professionals from across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the global PCMA community, the 2027 program will build on themes of meaningful connection, relevant learning, and active participation, embedding Seville and Andalusia into the core experience.

“Convening EMEA has evolved significantly since PCMA first brought our European community to Seville in 2018,” said Sherrif Karamat, CAE, President and CEO of PCMA and CEMA. “Returning in 2027 gives us the opportunity to demonstrate how far this community—and this experience—has come. Andalusia and Seville share our ambition to leverage business events to drive meaningful economic and social progress, and we look forward to working together to create an experience that connects our global community while delivering lasting value to the region.”

Manuel Gavira, Second Vice President and Regional Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, emphasized that “hosting an event of this magnitude, which brings together top players and key professionals from the global MICE industry, will allow us to showcase firsthand Andalusia’s capability, professionalism, and diversity as a destination, while reinforcing our position in a strategic segment known for generating economic activity and opportunities for our destination ecosystem and business suppliers.”
