SPAIN – FIVE CREATIVE ACTIVATIONS WE’VE SEEN THIS SUMMER AT FESTIVALS

We have gathered five proposals that went one step further than the typical festival booth this summer, directly addressing festival-goers’ needs: a locker to find your friends, a van to take you home, or a private suite right in the middle of the festival. It is clear that brands use these spaces not only to gain visibility, but also to let their imagination run wild and give the audience exactly what they need. Here are their secrets!

Activations that play on festival handicaps

InPost Meeting Point

The activation stems from the goal of bringing logistics closer to younger generations of users. To achieve this, InPost created a booth with a large illuminated sign visible from various points across the O Son do Camiño, FIB, and Arenal Sound festivals—events where it turned into a meeting spot for around 5,000 people. The concept targeted one of the most common festival struggles—losing your friends in the crowd—and offered a solution: a meeting point. Once at the booth, attendees could participate in an activity showing how a Locker works, complete with surprise prizes. Additionally, binoculars were available around the venue to help locate companions.

Going home tastes good

The pizza chain Can Pizza launched its “Going home tastes good” activation, developed by the creative agency Kitchen. This initiative tackled one of the worst managed issues at festivals: the chaotic trip back home. Instead of competing for attention inside the Mad Cool 2026 venue, Can Pizza solved a practical need by deploying a fleet of branded vans, complete with pizza for the passengers. Content creator Valgardi joined the activation by approaching people waiting in long transport lines and offering a challenge: they could get a free ride home and pizza if they managed to stay completely silent for the entire trip.

Fever House

Fever, as the ticketing partner of Primavera Sound, introduced “Fever House,” a space created alongside Naked Space and Vampire Studio, constructed with temporary structures playing on geometric shapes. Inside, attendees could listen to different stages simultaneously using headphones—allowing the audience to experience the whole festival without moving an inch. This was a smart move, as anyone who has been to a festival knows that one of the biggest fears is having two favorite artists perform at the exact same time. Located at Parc del Fòrum, the space also combined inflatables, music, food curated by Mesa Lobo, and DJ sets by Hello Sasy, Sofy Suars, and Fillo Deportaberta.

The activation that eliminates “downtime”

Heineken House

This activation format was designed to fill the gaps between concerts and encourage social connections among attendees under Heineken’s marketing platform “Where there are fans, there are more friends.” It was rolled out across the Love the 90’s, FIB, and Arenal Sound festivals. The Heineken House adjusted its lineup depending on the time of day: during daylight hours, artist Mery Olivares led T-shirt and cap customization workshops, while DJ sets by Gondelore, Bego Martín, and Lowline took over at night. The brand also added the “Heineken Studio” to its schedule, where attendees could sample flavored foams—allowing Heineken to extend the activation directly to its product.

The feeling of luxury arrives at the festival

Casita Vibra Mahou

Produced by The Lighthouse, the Casita Vibra Mahou was part of Vibra Mahou’s 10th-anniversary celebration as the main sponsor of Mad Cool. The activation’s core premise was: can you imagine spending a night in a hotel right in the heart of the festival? It captured public attention before the festival even started by raffling off the Casita’s private suite. The Instagram contest winner gained VIP access to Mad Cool with a companion, starting with a private car pickup straight from home. Beyond the main giveaway, the space featured jam sessions, DJ sets, karaoke, dance battles, and beer-centered activities.
