It’s the largest immersive installation in the world, with capacity to accommodate 3,840 visitors each day.
On 27th February in Germany, Acciona Producciones y Diseño received the iF Design Award for the immersive installation at the Wu Kingdom Hel Relic Museum in Wuxi (China). Together with the Red Dot Award, they have now won two of the most prestigious international prizes for design.
More than 2,000 professionals from all over the world attended the awards ceremony held in the BMW World in Munich. Eric Teunis, Project Manager for the installation, was there to receive the award in representation of APD and he was accompanied by Marc Tamschick, from Tamschick Media+Space GmbH, who also participated in the project development.
For over 60 years, the iF Design Award has been recognized the world over as a label of design excellence. This year, the high-profile international iF jury assessed some 5,000 entries in order to determine the winners. 1,629 entries were successful in standing out from the crowd and have received the iF label as a symbol of design excellence. Only 75 of those managed to make it into the top list of the international expert jury and were honored with an iF Gold Award at the festive awards ceremony at BMW World in Munich.
The iF Gold award was given to Acciona Producciones y Diseño in the ‘Exhibition’ category, within the ‘Interior Architecture’ discipline. The criteria considered to evaluate the applicants were the quality of execution, the spacial concept and the environmental impact, among others.
