SPAIN – Acciona Producciones y Diseño creates The Magic City
Developed by the Spanish agency and conceived by the City Council of Cordoba to wish the people of Cordoba and tourists a Merry Christmas during the holiday season, this audiovisual show, carried out with mapping techniques, recounts the legacy of the principal cultures that have left their mark on the city.
An audiovisual show created by Acciona Producciones y Diseño and promoted by the City Council of Cordoba to wish a Merry Christmas to residents and tourists who came to watch the spectacle in the Plaza de la Corredera.
Projected using the mapping technique over the façade of the Ancient Prison of the Corregidor (now the Sánchez Peña Market), the audiovisual setting recounts the legacy of the principal cultures that left their stamp on the city.
Besides showing monuments representative of the Roman, Muslim, Christian and Jewish cultures, the show also recreates artistic, architectural and cultural elements of the city’s contemporary history, declared Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, concluding with a series of scenes reminiscent of the Christmas season.
The show, in honor of Cordoba, its people and its traditions, converted the Corredera into the location most visited during the holidays. The projection used 3 projectors with 35,000 each, with a total power of 105,000 lumens, and 40,800 watts of power for sound.
