PORTUGAL – Lisbon to host World Economic Forum event

The European community of Global Shapers arrived to the Portuguese capital for the event, whose theme this year was “From Ideas to Action: Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Europe”. The initiative was organized by the Lisbon Hub of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers.

Lisbon was chosen among 60 European cities to host the Shape Europe World Economic Forum. The event is held annually and took place on 5th and 6th September at Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, as announced by the organization on Lusa.

The European community of Global Shapers, composed by leaders aged between 20 and 30 years old who stand out in several areas of activity and who wish to cause a social impact in their communities, arrived to the Portuguese capital. “From Ideas to Action: Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Europe” was this edition’s theme. Pires de Lima, Portugal’s Minister of Economy and several international experts were speakers at the event.

The initiative was organized by the Lisbon Hub of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers and the event comprised a dinner at the City Hall with the Mayor of Lisbon, António Costa, and councillor Graça Fonseca. The first day of the event was open to all, but registration was required.

The Global Shapers Lisbon Hub currently includes businessmen, social entrepreneurs, scientists, academics and artists. Cristina Fonseca, co-founder of Talkdesk, is the current curator of Lisbon Shapers.
