ITALY – Discovering Siena… with Filmmaster Events
The agency created the first ever history-telling project in Italy: a spectacular 3d video projection show allowing you to relive the history of one of the world’s best-loved cities.
The Comune di Siena and the Opera della Metropolitana di Siena, in conjunction with Filmmaster Events and Opera Gruppo Civita, which are today both members of the IEN – Italian Entertainment Network, are getting set to launch an innovative cultural event, due to run from 24th July to 30th September 2015, designed to enhance visitors’ experience of the Siena Cathedral complex.
The event, entitled Divine Beauty – Discovering Siena, is a project that sets out to merge art and culture with history and technology. 3D video mapping projected onto the huge unfinished façade of Siena’s Duomo Nuovo will bring the history of Siena and its cathedral to life on summer evenings in a captivating journey through time, exploring the legend and beauty of the city as leading-edge technology blasts 800 square metres of surface with images each weighing over 6 million megapixels.
The project is a visual experience in five acts that looks back at the history of this unique city, focusing primarily on the story of the cathedral and the Duomo Nuovo and seizing the opportunity to tell the story of the entire city: its sites, its people and its history.
The event is designed to turn art into a spectacular experience in order to communicate values, messages and historical re-enactments, in line with a trend that is becoming increasingly popular worldwide, bringing monuments to life in order to tell their story and to explore their identity.
