ITALY – AFTER LONDON, FORMULA 1 CHOOSES MILAN TO UNVEIL THE 2027 SEASON: THREE DAYS OF FAN FESTIVAL, EVENTS, AND ENTERTAINMENT KICKED OFF BY F1 THE SHOW. UNIPOL ARENA SUGGESTED AS POSSIBLE VENUE
From February 18th to 20th, the capital of Lombardy will host a major three-day event designed to immerse fans in the world of the Circus on the eve of the new World Championship. The Milan Fan Festival will run throughout the entire event with activities, entertainment, and experiences dedicated to enthusiasts, while the opening night on Thursday, February 18th, will be headlined by a unique, high-adrenaline show featuring all 22 drivers and Team Principals from all 11 teams, alongside music, entertainment, and special guests.
Milan is getting ready to become one of the world capitals of Formula 1 for three days. From February 18th to 20th, 2027, the Lombard capital will host F1 Live Milan, the grand event accompanying the launch of the Circus’s new season, bringing drivers, teams, fans, music, and entertainment to the city. The announcement came during the Italian Grand Prix weekend at Monza and marks an ideal handover from London, where F1 75 Live took place at the O2 Arena in February 2025.
For Milan, however, Formula 1 has chosen to raise the bar even higher: not just a single evening, but a full three-day festival. The production machine is still being assembled: Formula 1 has not yet officially announced the agency or production group that will create F1 The Show. ACI and Fondazione Fiera Milano are already involved at an institutional and regional level, while it remains to be seen whether Formula 1 will entrust the show to a major international player or open a selection process between Italian and international agencies.
The format of F1 Live Milan will be structured around two main highlights:
- Milan Fan Festival: Running across all three days (February 18–20), aiming to transform Milan into a vibrant gathering point for the Formula 1 community through dedicated activities, entertainment, and fan initiatives.
- F1 The Show: The most anticipated event, scheduled for the evening of Thursday, February 18th, 2027.
Drivers and Team Principals from all eleven teams competing in the 2027 World Championship will take the stage in a spectacle combining motorsport, music, and entertainment—a format designed to bring Formula 1 out of the racetrack and closer to the public before the engines officially roar for the new season. Following the blueprint tested in London, the evening will feature guest stars and entertainment, though Formula 1 has yet to reveal the artist lineup or the complete program for the Fan Festival.
The choice of Milan is strategic. The city is one of Italy’s leading international hubs for fashion, design, creativity, and major events, situated just a short distance from Monza—home of the historic Italian Grand Prix. The bond between Milan and Formula 1 is strong, bridging the iconic circuit with a metropolis capable of turning a sporting event into a broad-reaching international spectacle.
Formula 1’s goal is to allow fans not just to watch the sport, but to feel immersed in its energy, innovation, and emotion—a strategy focused on building a direct relationship with the audience. The operation holds clear economic and cultural value for the city, following the model of Milan’s famous “Weeks” (Fashion/Design) to engage international media, sponsors, partners, and the general public.
While the official location has not been confirmed, Williams Racing officially indicated the Unipol Arena as the venue for their participation in F1 The Show on February 18th. This suggests the main evening will be built around the arena, although Formula 1’s general communications continue to refer to an “iconic city venue.”
The result could be a Milanese “Formula Week,” placing the city at the center of international attention right before the season begins. The 2025 benchmark at London’s O2 Arena gathered all ten teams on a single stage, turning season launches into major television and digital events. Adding to the excitement, the 2027 World Championship introduces a new technical era for Formula 1, making the Milanese launch particularly anticipated.
Tickets will go on sale later this year, with pre-registration options available, alongside multi-channel broadcasting coverage for global fans unable to attend in person.
