GERMANY – Vok Dams supports kick-off event of ADAC’s safety vest mission
Frankfurt’s IAA was not just a stage for the emotional performances of the automobile
industry, but also for those who are most at risk when it comes to traffic: primary school
pupils.
For the fourth time already the partners of the mission for safety vests– namely, the
ADAC (German Automobile Club)-foundation “Yellow Angel”, the Deutsche Post, the
aid organization “A Heart for Children” and the Association of the Automobile Industry
(VDA) – ensured that 16.700 primary schools all over Germany received a total of
770.000 safety vests for free, which were handed out to all those starting their first year
of primary school. Since the mission’s start in 2010 more than three million bright yellow
vests have been distributed to abecedarians.
The starting signal of this year’s mission took place at the IAA in Frankfurt: 100 primary
school pupils from Frankfurt raised the roof of the Congress Center. Together with
children’s songwriter Reinhard Horn they presented the vest song “Weste an, Kapuze
auf“” (“Vest on – Hood up”).
The nationwide kick-off of this year’s ADAC safety-vest-mission was presented by host
Willi Weitzel, VDA president Matthias Wissmann, ADAC president Peter Meyer, “A
Heart for Children”- managing director Martina Krüger and Christian Stiefelhagen,
member of the board of Deutsche Post.
Before their inspirational performance, the primary school pupils and their teachers
marched to the Conference Center of the IAA from different Frankfurt schools.
To ensure a smooth process of this kick-off-action, the ADAC had commissioned the
Frankfurt office of Vok Dams, agency for events and live-marketing.
