GERMANY – Vok Dams Munich Organizes German Partner Conference 2011 for Microsoft

Under the motto “New Power through Being Connected“, more than 1,400 guests, ca. 1,200 Microsoft partners among them, experienced the perfect event. Exciting information, appealing activities and mutual motivation changed every hour.

As a result, this year’s event programme was geared towards the communication needs of the guests. Thus, the guests could expand their network at the Congress Centre Hamburg on 4th and 5th October, since, despite all the changes, all the innovations and new technologies, Microsoft still focuses on a close cooperation to continue being successful. And all guests used the opportunity to embark on lively discussions about the central topics of the German Partner Conference: consumerization of IT, an integrated Microsoft product portfolio and communication from mobility to unified communications.

Until dawn people danced to the music of the band StreetLive Family or tried to break the high score of one of the many Xbox 360 Kinect games. The next morning brought a special challenge as the guests were asked to participate in the Alsterlauf running race together with Microsoft’s management. Prior to the conference, this special event had already been communicated on the social networking sites of XING and Facebook. After this special “sightseeing tour” of Hamburg, the First Mayor of the City of Hamburg Olaf Scholz welcomed the conference guests at the plenary session.

Intensive dialogue and activities for everyone – same procedure as last year? Not quite, because networking was made even easier this time because several interactive web-based communication tools were used. For example, contact details could be exchanged effortlessly via Microsoft Tag. The Tag Codes on the back of the name badges were scanned and the contact details were thus automatically stored in the mobile address book.

A special highlight of the partner conference was the DPK 2011 Mobile App – an innovative App that provided the ideal overview of all essential event details and helped the guests to navigate the conference programme. The guests could also give their feedback on the individual sessions directly via this App. This ensures that the partner conference of 2012 will also be planned and organized in close relation with the needs of Microsoft’s partners.
